Exhibitions 2011
Sat 2 April – Sat 7 May
Sea and Coast | Ros White

A Cumbrian artist who takes inspiration from walks along the northwest of Scotland coastline – an area of special attraction. These new oil paintings capture the morning light along the shoreline and the changing moods of the landscape throughout the day.

Sat 14 May – Sun 19 June
Small Works | Carol Norris

An eclectic mix of work that encompasses a variety of media and subjects. Carol is a well-known, Borders based artist who is largely self-taught and exhibits throughout Scotland most recently in the Borders and Edinburgh, including The Royal Scottish Academy.

Sat 25 June – Sun 31 July
Land Marks | Penny Cuthbert

The inspiration for this exhibition is a response to journeys made and to places visited. Through mixed media the artist explores marks, patterns and geological features which order our world.

Sat 6 August – Sat 17 September
Abstracting Reality | Ken Campbell

Inspired by the geology and dramatic landscapes of the Scottish highlands and islands the artist focuses on the area where representation meets abstraction.
Included in this show is a recent series of paintings capturing the movement, speed and drama of cycle racing.

Sat 24 Sept – Sun 30 October
Into Light | Colin Philip

A series of work which pursues themes that originate in the
relationship between folk-memory, myth and landscape. Colin’s images derive from the elemental drama of light and darkness that characterises the northern world, aiming for an experience rather than a representation of place.
